The deer in Texas were warned off by the smell of people unless the were veeeeeery hungry. This is not a perfect solution, but used with the others it will certainly help. Did I tell you I saw a large black bear with a brown nose a mile from my house?? Thank God I was in the car. I just stopped to wait and let him pass. They adore our yard. We've unwittingly created their ideal habitat...lots of long grass, piles of wood and sticks, and idealistic homeowners who still plant luscious kale and lettuce EVERY YEAR! Yep, every year. But this year we've committed ourselves to onions and garlic only. Every year... oh, and, I happen to think the white wisp of fur just above the groundhog's nose is the cutest...
