I spy pie
One of my favorite recipes is the savory Russian Carrot Pie from Mollie Katzen’s Enchanted Broccoli Forest. (If you make it, try the nut crust with almonds and pecans.)
I like to make two and freeze one for later. If I can keep the tigers at bay…

That looks so good I am feeling inspired to make it myself. I need to get some cottage cheese. And carrots.

Great photo!! Looks delicious.
Reminds of Bonnard’s ‘La Tarte aux cherises’.
My copy of ‘Enchanted Broccoli Forest’ is about 20 years old and is really just a collection of very stained individual pages.

Wow, I was just thinking of the same pies like a week ago, I haven’t had one in a couple years. Jennie and I used to make them like at least monthly. awesome picture, too, is there a flash from over head or what?
